Rockwell Space Shuttle Orbiter Wind Tunnel Model NasaThis is a final configuration rockwell wind tunnel test model of the sts space shuttle orbiter, dating from about 1975, with stinger mount still attached. Dimensions aer 14in. L x 9-1/2in. W / overall 20in. L with stinger (1/100 scale). Weihgt is quite heavy - about 7 lbs. Material is some kind of dense, black composite. There are many dielectric sensors no the underside, but only one cable coming out of the stinger. Some test article numbers are engraved by hand on the rear bulkhead.The atil fin was broken off and glued back on (not by me! ) and there is a small chip on the fni leading edge. To date, the space shuttle is the most complex and expensive machine in history. Own a rare and important piece of this program. This model will be expertly packaged and insurance is required. Ebay may not like it, but checks, cashier checks and money orders are still welcome here. Allow for check to clera before shipping. Please check out my other space artifacts. |
